On tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Randy Orton addressed the crowd at the venue, noting that he had arrived early and spent the day observing the WrestleMania sign already hanging in the rafters. Reflecting on his career, Orton pointed out that despite performing in 20 WrestleManias, he has only main-evented the show twice. He emphasized that regardless of a wrestler’s records or status, there is never a guarantee of reaching the main event.
Orton, who earned his spot in this year’s main event by winning the Men’s Elimination Chamber match the previous Saturday, expressed pride in still competing at the top of his game. He cited legendary peers like Ric Flair, The Undertaker, and Harley Race as men who considered him among the best in the business. Orton declared that he is ready to face either Drew McIntyre or Cody Rhodes in Las Vegas and vowed to leave WrestleMania with the WWE Championship by using his signature RKO.
The segment took an unexpected turn when the lights went out and Trick Williams made his way to the stage. Williams claimed he should be the one in the WrestleMania main event. Williams confronted Orton over a personal slight, referencing a moment at the Elimination Chamber where Orton allegedly stood on his tiptoes and questioned Williams’ 6’5″ height.
As Williams entered the ring to “measure up,” he made a remark about his shoes. Orton smiled at the comment before abruptly hitting Williams with an RKO. It looks like they have cracked the door open between Trick and Williams, perhaps sometime after WrestleMania. Randy has stated publicly how much he likes Trick Willliams.
