Randy Orton: I never really saw myself leaving WWE

Randy Orton made an appearance on the latest episode of WWE After The Bell with Corey Graves where he talked about a wide range of topics including him deciding to stay with the company.

Orton had been teasing that he could make the jump from WWE to AEW on social media prior to the news he had signed a new multi-year deal with WWE.

The longtime WWE star had been dropping references to AEW, which sparked speculation that he could be departing. This is something that Orton talked about and trolling fans on social media about this possibility. Orton brought up how he just signed a new deal and he’s very happy with it.

“Yeah, I was just having fun and I’ve been more so now than ever, aware of other guys like Will Ospreay and other guys that work with Cody [Rhodes].”

He stated that he’s watching a little more wrestling these days as he’s not in the WWE bubble as much as he had been for the last two decades, which is why he’s learning to appreciate other styles a little more.

This is where Orton noted that he never saw himself leaving WWE when his contract was coming up because he’s happy where he is at and what he is doing to his body.

“This might be upsetting for some people, but I never really saw myself leaving WWE. To me, it was about getting to a point where I’m happy and what I’m doing to my body, the amount of time that I’m gone from my family. In the end, it’s all gonna be worth it and that’s where I’m at right now. So I’m definitely happy being a WWE Superstar.”

Orton is the first guest on the show around the 4:35 mark. You can listen to the entire interview by clicking on the player below:
