Randy Orton suffered “minor burns” in fireball attack by Alexa Bliss on WWE Raw

Monday’s episode of WWE Raw had another interesting ending as Alexa Bliss shot a fireball into Randy Orton’s face. Now, WWE has issued a follow-up on Orton.

In a storyline update, WWE is claiming that Orton “suffered minor burns to the face following the fireball attack by Alexa Bliss on Raw.” WWE added that fans should check out next week’s Raw “for the latest update on Orton’s condition.”

Of course, WWE had to scramble to make changes to the script for this past Monday’s episode as Orton was supposed to face WWE Champion Drew McIntyre in a non-title match.

When it was revealed that McIntyre had tested positive for COVID-19, WWE needed a replacement for Orton to face in the main event. Thus, they got Triple H to fight the former WWE Champion for a few minutes before the lights went out and Bliss did the fireball angle.

It’s been reported that the angles done on TV since Orton defeated “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Inferno match at December’s TLC pay-per-view will lead to another match between the two stars at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event later this month.
