On this week’s episode of Smackdown Live, WWE said that Mauro Ranallo was not on the show because he was sick. The previous week, the story was that he could not make it because of the snow storm. The actual reason why he has been off the show for the last couple of weeks is because he has been suffering from severe depression. It’s something he has dealt with since he was a teenager and he’s talked about it in interviews.
Since 3/13, Ranallo has not been in contact with most people and that includes people that he’s known for years. However, two of his closest friends have confirmed that he is okay and he is resting up. It’s not the first time he’s missed an event due to depression because he missed an Invicta MMA show for the same reason.
As of this writing, Ranallo has not posted anything on Twitter since 3/14. We wish him well and hope to see him back on Smackdown Live soon.
