Many fans have asked why certain shows are not available on the WWE Network yet. One of the reasons is that they are spreading out the shows so they don’t burn through too much so that they have stuff to get people to renew subscriptions. However, there’s a process that WWE has to go through to get stuff up on the network.
1. The footage has to be digitized and cleaned up from old tapes
2. The WWE legal team has to check the footage to make sure it doesn’t contain music that they can’t use legally
3. The footage is then sent for any additional editing and it needs to be closed captioned for the hearing impaired
4. Once that process is complete, then it’s uploaded to the database of shows for the network.
As far as ECW footage, they spend much more time on those shows since those shows have tons of music that cannot be used on the network. Also, some of the early ECW tapes are missing so that explains why you see gaps on the on demand ECW shows from 1993 and 94.
