Last week, WWE was teasing that Daniel Bryan might make his “career-altering” announcement on SmackDown Live.
Bryan didn’t appear on the show and it turns out that even though he was advertised, he was never going to be on the show because of scheduled vacation time.
Post Wrestling noted that Bryan had scheduled vacation time and that’s why he wasn’t on the show.
There’s no word on what the “career-altering announcement” teases are all about but there is a storyline in place for him.
Some have speculated that his announcement could be that he’s moving to 205 Live or NXT. If he really is moving to another brand, then NXT would be the most likely option because WWE has been in talks to have NXT air on Wednesday nights on Fox Sports 1 as counterprogramming to AEW on TNT.
There has been talk in WWE about having main roster stars appear on NXT if the show moves to FS1. We’ll see if that is indeed what they have planned for Daniel Bryan or if they have something else in mind for him.
