Glenn “Kane” Jacobs spokesman told Knox News that Jacobs has not changed his mind on being part of the Crown Jewel show in Saudi Arabia. The reason given was that Kane wanted to honor his commitment to WWE and because money is being donated for a cause. WWE previously announced that they would be donating $100,000 to a local nonprofit foundation at the request of Jacobs.
His spokesman issued the following statement. “Mayor Jacobs is still going to the Crown Jewel event because he made a commitment to not only the WWE, but the Knoxville Public Safety Foundation and the first responders of Knoxville and Knox County.”
Jacobs is still going but at least one top WWE star has said he will not be flying to Saudi Arabia. John Cena is considered to be “100 percent out” for Crown Jewel and there have been all sorts of rumors about Daniel Bryan pulling out of the show.
WWE has not commented on Cena and Bryan’s status but the latest on Cena is that his replacement will be announced on Raw if he does not change his mind. If Bryan does not change his mind then I would assume that his replacement will be announced on Tuesday night on Smackdown Live.
WWE Crown Jewel will air live this Friday at 12 pm eastern on the WWE Network. Kane will team with The Undertaker and they will face the returning Shawn Michaels and Triple H in the main event.
