Some fans may have noticed one name missing from not only this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, but also next Friday’s show as that edition was taped on the same night from Chicago.
Kevin Owens didn’t appear on either episode. Fightful Select reports that the former Universal Champion was slated to be at the event.
Per the report, Owens couldn’t make it to the show despite his best attempts as he was dealing with a “nightmare travel situation.”
Because of this, Owens had to be written out of the shows and major production and writing changes were made. The report noted that Owens was supposed to be face-to-face with the Bloodline to introduce the John Cena video” on this week’s show.
