As noted this week on WWE Monday Night Raw, Kofi Kingston did not appear on the show because of a jaw injury. Xavier Woods lost to T-BAR on Raw and he didn’t have Woods backing him up at ringside, which led to some speculation that he could be out for another reason.
Kingston addressed his jaw injury on Instagram so what was said on TV is the real reason why he is out of action.
Kingston said, “I gotta apologize because I feel like I’m talking out of the side of my mouth and I’m dealing with a jaw injury right now. My mouth is only closing on one side and if I sound kind of funny, that’s why.” He added, “Ordinarily I do a lot of imitations, impersonations, and impressions but I’m not doing that right now. I’m talking funny trying to figure this situation out.”
It is not confirmed when he broke his jaw but it was likely at the WWE TLC pay-per-view. Kingston noted after that show that he lost two teeth during the Raw Team Title Match between The New Day and The Hurt Business.

Hats off to @Sheltyb803 and @CedricAlexander tonight. I’m still spiting out pieces of my teeth. You’ve officially earned my respect. Good battle! 🍻
I’m thoroughly looking forward to the next one…
