Reason Why CM Punk Is No Longer Advertised For Some WWE Events

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has shared an update on CM Punk being removed from WWE’s European Summer Tour advertising, with Dave Meltzer reporting that the change is a schedule adjustment rather than something more meaningful.

Meltzer wrote in the latest Newsletter: “CM Punk has been removed from the advertising from the European tour and several other Raw dates in June. We were told there is nothing more to this than a schedule change.”

WWE quietly pulled Punk from the house show portion of the May 28 to June 22 European Summer Tour. Punk had originally been advertised for the full overseas run, which begins May 28 in Liverpool and continues through the June 22 episode of Monday Night Raw at The O2 in London.

Punk is still advertised for the July 6 episode of Raw from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, his hometown, and the company is keeping him on the listings for the July 13 Raw in Dallas, July 20 in Detroit, July 27 in Los Angeles, and August 3 in Des Moines. Punk also remains listed as a featured Superstar for the June 22 Raw from The O2, specifically, along with the May 18, May 25, and June 15 episodes of Raw in the United States.

Punk has not appeared on WWE television since the April 20 episode of Raw, the night after he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42. That episode closed with a face-to-face segment between Punk and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes that teased a future program. WWE has not built on the angle in the weeks since.

He had been heavily speculated as a possible mystery partner for Danhausen at Backlash after commentary teased that Danhausen’s eventual partner would be someone who “loves money.” Punk did not surface, and Minihausen ended up tagging with Danhausen instead. Punk himself said on the Raw after WrestleMania that he was not taking a vacation and not planning to take time off.
