Reason why Renee Paquette’s WWE non-compete clause has not expired yet

Renee Paquette made the decision nearly a year ago to depart from WWE.

However, in a recent interview with Wrestling Inc, the former Renee Young stated that her WWE non-compete clause has still not expired but it is close to being up. She noted that she still has a good relationship with WWE.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Paquette had an employee contract with WWE where she could leave after giving her two weeks notice. However, there’s a catch. Because he left on her own, she couldn’t work for a competitor for a full year. Also, when main roster talent leaves the company, they’re given a 90-day non-compete clause and paid during that time. In Renee’s situation, she wasn’t paid for the year.

Paquette did state in the interview that she doesn’t want to separate herself from pro wrestling because she loves it as well as knows that’s where her fanbase comes from.

In regards to AEW, she thinks there are endless opportunities for other things she could be doing in AEW if something came up. However, at this time, she hasn’t put much thought into it.

Paquette is busy being a mother to her first child with Jon Moxley and hosting her Oral Sessions podcast.
