Reason why Shayna Baszler was brought back to WWE Raw

WWE had to create a back-up plan for a certain storyline on WWE Raw, which explains why WWE decided to bring back Shayna Baszler to television.

Baszler had been absent from television for nearly two months before she returned earlier this month.

It was previously reported that Vince McMahon soured on Baszler because “she doesn’t check his buttons when it comes to women in wrestling” and he “never conceptually grasped the style that an MMA fighter should use in pro wrestling.” For more on that, click here.

However, Baszler returned on the July 13th episode of Raw where she did a promo to put the rest of the women’s division on notice.

Dave Meltzer noted on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that Natalya was supposed to attack Kairi Sane and injure her on Monday’s Raw. That was the idea as of Sunday. However, Meltzer stated that by watching Monday’s episode of Raw, it looks like Baszler will replace Natalya in that role.

It was noted that the reason why Baszler was the back-up wrestler for this role was due to Natalya being kept off television for a few weeks. As noted, Sane is slated to return to Japan to live there full-time with her husband. Monday was her last day with WWE.

We noted earlier on the site that WWE producer TJ Wilson, who wrestled as Tyson Kidd, came to the testing site done by the company on June 25th with a fever.

Wilson and Natalya were tested for the virus. They tested negative at the time but were sent home due to precautionary reasons.
