Reason Why Stephanie Vaquer Defeated Giulia At WWE Roadblock

This past Tuesday, Stephanie Vaquer defeated Giulia in the main event of WWE NXT Roadblock to become a double champion.

The title change was not planned initially as part of a long-term creative direction, as WWE had to pivot due to one talent taking time off in Giulia.

Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live noted two separate issues forced WWE to make the double title match and have Giulia put over Vaquer. Giulia is dealing with a minor injury and visa issue.

“So Giulia, there are two things going on. There is some ‘minor’, I was told, visa issue. And there’s also an injury, which is listed internally as ‘undisclosed.’ I don’t know what it is, but she sure didn’t work like she was hurt.”

Alvarez added that Giulia would be away for a while. Following her victory, Vaquer now holds both championships.
