At Saturday’s Super Show-Down, there was some speculation online on why Daniel Bryan defeated The Miz so quickly. Some speculated that it was because the match was cut short and others speculated that Bryan was injured.
Neither is the case. As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the reason why the match was so short is simply that they wanted to use it as fodder in promos to embarrass The Miz so wrestlers can refer to him as the “two-minute man.” Ric Flair was known as the “sixty-minute man” because he wrestled so many hour-long matches in the 70’s and 80’s.
It looks like WWE has moved on from the Miz/Daniel Bryan storyline as Bryan will challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view.
