A few people have asked why WWE announced Trish Stratus vs. Alexa Bliss on Saturday night instead of waiting a few weeks during the main hype for the Evolution pay-per-view.
The reason for that is because tickets go on sale this week and WWE wanted to get the word out to fans in Brooklyn since Evolution will be taking place a short drive away at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY.
The pre-sale starts tonight at 11 pm eastern, shortly after Smackdown Live and fans can use codes PPV and PPV2 to buy tickets. The general on-sale date is this Friday.
Evolution will feature over 50 women including names from the past and women from every brand. Every women’s title will be defended and the Mae Young Classic finals will take place on that show.
As you can see below, in addition to the women from the active rosters, they are also advertising Lita for the show. Another name expected to be there is Michelle McCool and they will be contacting other ex-WWE Superstars about making an appearance, perhaps in some sort of multi-women tag team match or battle royal.
The one name many fans would like to see is AJ Lee we’ve been told that WWE has not yet contacted her and we don’t know if WWE has plans to contact her. Kaitlyn did an interview last month and she didn’t think we’d see Lee in a WWE ring anytime soon because of the issues between WWE and CM Punk. It’s worth noting that Lee is dominating a WWE.com poll on who fans want to see on the show.
