Reason why WWE decided to keep AJ Styles from wrestling on Smackdown Live in recent weeks

AJ Styles, one of the most popular wrestlers on today's WWE roster has not been wrestling on Smackdown Live for the last couple of weeks. If he was just an average lower-card or mid-card wrestler then fans would probably shrug it off as nothing but fans are scratching their heads because fans are used to seeing Styles, arguably the best wrestler on the roster, wrestle on most weeks.

The United States Champion last wrestled on TV on the September 12th edition of Smackdown Live against Tye Dillinger. So, what's the deal? Dave Meltzer answered the question when it was asked on Twitter. There is no need to panic because he is not in the doghouse and he is not injured. Meltzer noted that he was purposely kept off the show because they want fans to stick around after 205 Live so Styles' matches are taking place in dark segments.

Indeed, Styles did wrestle on Tuesday night but not for the TV cameras. He teamed up with Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton to take on WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, Rusev, and Baron Corbin. As you can see in the clip at this link, the crowd popped when he gave a "Too Sweet" hand gesture.
