Recent WWE Signing Teases Royal Rumble Appearance

A recent WWE signing has teased potentially entering the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble Match on Saturday, January 31. Matt Cardona, who recently re-signed with WWE earlier this month, has taken to Twitter to express his hope at gaining entry into the 30-man match.

With the event rapidly approaching, several major names have declared their entry into the Men’s and Women’s Rumble Matches. On the men’s side, the likes of two-time Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes, last year’s victor Jey Uso, and most recently, Roman Reigns have all declared their entry. Meanwhile, stars such as Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, and The Judgment Day (Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez) are set to enter the Women’s Rumble.

While he’s yet to be officially confirmed for the men’s match, Cardona reflected on his last WWE Royal Rumble Match appearance, which took place over a decade ago.

“The last time I was in a Royal Rumble match was 2015…over 10 years ago!” Cardona wrote. “I’ve had new gear ready every year…even for the 5 years I wasn’t even in WWE. I’ll be in Saudi Arabia next week…gear is packed…I’m ALWAYZ READY!”

Cardona made his intentions clear, stating that if he is in the match, he plans to win and head to the main event of WrestleMania.

“If I’m in it, I’ll do whatever I can to throw every opponent over the top rope and head to WrestleMania! 1 more championship to win…I’M NOT FINISHED!”

With his sights firmly set on the Undisputed WWE Championship, Cardona had attempted to qualify for the number one contender four-way at Saturday Night’s Main Event on January 24. However, he fell short to Trick Williams in that effort.
