Recently Released WWE Star Announces Next Booking

A former WWE NXT champion who was recently released from the company has secured another booking on the independent circuit. That star is the former Wes Lee, who is now competing again under his independent name, Dezmond Xavier.

Pro Wrestling Revolver announced that Xavier would be part of their upcoming “Season Finale” event on December 13. The show will take place in Clive, Iowa. This booking marks Xavier’s first event with Wrestling Revolver since 2019, which was prior to his signing with WWE.

Return To The Indies

This is the second major booking announced for the 36-year-old since his departure from WWE. Last week, it was announced that Lee would be returning to House of Glory on November 15 as part of their “Superclash” event in New York.

WWE Departure

Lee was part of a group of cuts that took place on October 10, which also included other NXT and WWE ID talent. All talents released in that group had 30-day no-compete clauses in their contracts, which have recently expired.

He had been signed to WWE since 2020. He first joined the company as part of the tag team MSK with Zachary Wentz, and the duo went on to win the NXT Tag Team titles. When Wentz was released, Xavier continued as a singles wrestler and successfully captured the NXT North American Championship. He had recently formed a stable called High Ryze with Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe, but the group had not been featured prominently prior to Xavier’s release.
