We recently noted that WWE offered former NFL punter Pat McAfee a multi-year deal to be a part of their broadcast team. However, it looks like McAfee will be keeping busy outside of his duties on WWE NXT. He recently made his debut as an NFL broadcaster, calling today’s game between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers.
He made quite the impact right off the bat. His reaction to a fake field goal from Lions kicker Matt Prater, which resulted in a touchdown, is picking up steam on social media. Check it out here:

McAfee, a longtime WWE fan, revealed on a recent episode of his podcast, the “Pat McAfee Show,” that WWE offered him a multi-year deal. McAfee has worked as a panelist on several NXT pre-shows before. WWE is impressed enough with the former NFL star’s work to offer him a longterm deal. He seemed intent on signing, saying it was a “dream come true”:
“WWE has formally offered me a multi-year contract,” McAfee said. “Who knows what we’re going to be doing over there, they just want me to come make some content. And we’ll see where it goes.
“I am very excited for this,” he added. “This is a dream come true.”
