Released WWE NXT star back at the Performance Center

Tino Sabbatelli was released by WWE NXT back in April due to budget cuts related to the COVID-19 pandemic, but he might be getting a second chance with the company.

He had been out of action with a torn pectoral muscle since April 2018 when he was released. Fast forward to July, he started working for AEW although he wasn’t signed to a full-time deal.

Sabbatelli only wrestled in one match for the promotion by going under the ring name Sabby. He teamed up with Brady Pierce in a losing effort against Best Friends on the July 21st episode of AEW Dark. He hasn’t worked a match since then.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Sabbatelli was back at the WWE Performance Center this past week. As of this writing, there’s no word yet as to why he was brought back and the report didn’t mention whether the company plans to re-sign him.

Sabbatelli has yet to comment on why he's back at the training facility. It should be noted that the training facility that was housed by the Performance Center has been moved to a nearby location as the actual PC is being used as the Capitol Wrestling Center for NXT TV.
