We noted earlier on the site that Impact teased Slater potentially joining the promotion back on the June 9th episode of their weekly television show.
It happened during a backstage segment with Rhyno and Hakim Zane. The segment saw Zane try to talk Rhyno into becoming a tag team but Rhyno stated, “I’ve already got a tag team partner…and he’s got kids.”
Obviously, this was a play on the tagline of Slater during his tenure with WWE. For more on that, click here.
Slater recently took to his Twitter account where he shared a video of himself on an exercise bike with “July 18 Coming Soon” shown. He also captioned the tweet with “watch the hell out.”

July 18th is the date of the Impact Slammiversary pay-per-view. It also is around the time that those released by WWE in April due to budget cuts are free from their non-compete clause with WWE and able to sign with any promotion they want.
As of this writing, there have been no reports regarding him joining Impact.
