Renee Young is expected to leave WWE, as first reported by Bobby Burack from OutKick.com. WrestlingNews.co reached out to two WWE sources and they confirmed the news to us.
Young will work this weekend at SummerSlam and not much else is known about her departure but she was the one who made the decision to leave the company.
There were rumors a few weeks back that there may have been some unhappiness from Young and husband Jon Moxley after she tested positive for COVID-19 and WWE officials didn’t call to check up on her.
Young has drawn interest from mainstream media companies and there was talk just a couple of years ago about ESPN wanting to sign her.
Young is one of the most well-liked people in WWE and she has been praised by fans for being one of the best interviewers in many years, despite the scripted nature of the WWE shows.
Young’s departure will spark rumors that she may end up joining her husband in All Elite Wrestling but there is no doubt that she has many options on the table as companies like ESPN would likely (if they haven’t already) will reach out to see if there’s interest. Young also recently announced plans to release a cookbook.
