Following his recent debut on Friday Night SmackDown, the reported plans in place for Matt Riddle were revealed, which will see him feud with Baron Corbin.
Apparently, Corbin was not happy about the plans for the feud with the latest addition to the main roster.
Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda reports that while Riddle has known about the plans for several months, Corbin only recently found out. Riddle’s first lengthy rivalry on the blue brand was pitched to Corbin, who was informed about it last week.
Per the report, Corbin felt and even insisted that Riddle should have to beat “five enhancement talents” before getting him instead of what WWE had planned.
The history between Riddle and Corbin dates back to last year’s WWE Survivor Series Triple Threat match between all three brands when Corbin eliminated Riddle. They also got to mix it up during the 2020 30-Man Royal Rumble Match.
Friday’s episode of SmackDown, which was a tribute to The Undertaker and his 30-year career, featured Corbin disrespecting the legendary pro wrestler. The show closed with Riddle in addition to other stars such as WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman, SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day, and Jeff Hardy hitting signature moves to Corbin.
