REPORT: Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract is ending, both sides have not been able to come to terms on a new deal

In a pretty shocking development, WWE may be losing a top star if they don’t agree to terms soon on a new deal.

PWInsider is reporting that, per multiple sources, Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract is not up “imminently” but it’s in its final year, which means that this could be his final WrestleMania. It was also noted that both sides “aren’t even close’ to agreeing to a new deal.

McIntyre was declared the “Chosen One” over a decade ago by Vince McMahon but his first run in the company fizzled. In 2015, he returned and became one of the MVP’s of the company during the height of the pandemic so it would be insane if a new deal is not reached.

Obviously, if he leaves WWE, it would be a no-brainer for companies like AEW and NJPW to reach out to him. Tomorrow night at WrestleMania, McIntyre and Sheamus will challenge for Gunther’s Intercontinental Title in a Triple Threat Match.
