Kairi Sane is not a free agent after all. Although it was reported in December that Sane’s contract with WWE had expired, that’s not the case. Dave Meltzer corrected his previous report in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter as he noted her contract doesn’t expire until February.
Sane had publicly given the impression that she wasn’t going to renew her deal. As previously reported, she recently removed “WWE” from her Instagram handle, but still has it in her Twitter username.
The company wanted to renew her deal with the idea for her to make an in-ring return, but she wasn’t interested in living in the United States again.
Sane stopped wrestling in 2020 as she returned to Japan to be with her husband and worked in an ambassador role for the company in addition to doing commentary for the Hell in a Cell 2021 PPV event. Sane recently announced that she is launching a 24-hour fitness gym, PARA-FIT24, in the Shonan Enonshima Area of Japan.
