An update has been provided on the contract status of Karrion Kross and Scarlett, whose WWE deals are set to expire this weekend. A new report indicates that WWE has made an offer to Kross, and the public nature of his contract situation may be a deliberate storyline.
Karrion Kross Reportedly Receives WWE Contract Offer
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed the situation, which was first reported by Fightful Select last week. Meltzer stated that while the story of Kross’s contract expiring was legitimate, he has since been given an offer to stay with the company.
“I was told the story about him not being signed to a contract, I heard that is legit, but he did get an offer,” Meltzer said. “Maybe when the story that he didn’t get an offer was written it was accurate, but I was told he’s gotten an offer and I don’t expect him going anywhere.”
Speculation On A Karrion Kross Storyline Angle
Meltzer also speculated that the entire situation “smells like an angle,” suggesting that WWE may be intentionally “working” the fans in a way similar to the brief departure and return of R-Truth earlier this year. He pointed to Paul Heyman recently praising Kross on Ariel Helwani’s show and WWE plugging Kross’s book as evidence that “he ain’t going anywhere.”
