Bobby Lashley was originally slated to wrestle Bray Wyatt at WWE WrestleMania 39, but due to an illness that Wyatt is dealing with, WWE had to nix the bout.
Lashley won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on Friday Night SmackDown. After the match, he noted that he wanted a WrestleMania match and was willing to take on anyone.
Lashley continued to mention an open challenge on social media and appeared on the Sunday night show where he came out with the Andre The Giant trophy in dress clothes before disappearing.
WRKD Wrestling reports that LA Knight was slated to do a segment with Lashley on the second night of WrestleMania 39, but that segment was nixed. It’s unclear what happened. It should be noted that Knight had stated that WrestleMania would be getting a LA Knight moment.
Vince McMahon was backstage at Friday’s SmackDown, WrestleMania, and in charge of running things at Monday’s Raw, where he made changes before and during the show. It’s possible that he may have nixed this Knight segment.
Another report about a segment being changed this weekend. Also, before Mania, Bobby laid out an open challenge and vowed to get a match on the show. Instead, all he got to do was come out with the Andre trophy. https://t.co/IrWtweISTi
