REPORT: Logan Paul’s Staged Phone Call Mirrored Real WWE Talk

Logan Paul recently addressed the status of his $1 million boxing challenge to NFL players, revealing that WWE management has officially blocked the potential bouts. The situation escalated after Paul claimed on his Impaulsive podcast that no football player could defeat him in a ring, leading to public acceptances from athletes like Le’Veon Bell and Breiden Fehoko.

During a recent livestream, Paul appeared to receive a phone call from a WWE executive named Chris, who informed him that the company would not grant him approval for “extracurricular activities” due to injury risks.

While some fans and athletes, including Le’Veon Bell, accused Paul of staging the phone call to “duck” the fight, a new report suggests the situation was more nuanced. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the phone call played in the clip was indeed a staged recreation. However, the substance of the call—including the reasons provided by WWE executives for the ban—accurately reflected the private conversations that had already taken place between Paul and the company.

WWE Protects Logan Paul Ahead Of WrestleMania 42

“One source in WWE said that the conversation itself that was played and everyone heard was staged, but that it was close to a replica of what actually went down in the sense that the reasons in the call why they wouldn’t allow him to box and how it was explained was how it was done.

Another confirmed the reasons as explained were legit and while not denying the phone call itself being planned for release, was essentially done publicly to explain why Paul couldn’t do the fight since the fight with Bell by that time had gotten a lot of media publicity,” the report stated.

While Bron Breakker was originally planned to be Seth Rollins’ WrestleMania opponent, WWE has pivoted due to Breakker’s hernia surgery, with plans calling for Paul to serve that role.
