REPORT: Roman Reigns’ positive drug test was for Adderall

The word going around within WWE is that Roman Reigns tested positive for Adderall, a stimulant that contains amphetamine. That is the same drug that Adam Rose tested positive for a few months ago and is used to treat ADHD but can be also used as a performance enhancer (cognitive enhancer in other professions). It’s also used as a party drug. In 2013, NFL.com ran a story about Adderall being the drug of choice for many NFL players so it’s a problem in all sports. Some of the negative side effects can include: rapid or irregular heartbeat, delirium, panic, psychosis, and heart failure. The drug would be ok under the WWE wellness policy if the talent has a valid prescription and is under doctor supervision and if WWE is told about it beforehand.

WWE does not officially announce what their performers fail for so we will not get official word from them. Also, the wrestlers are strongly encouraged not to talk about it, which tells you why the company was not happy with Adam Rose when he talked about his drug suspension.

Reigns’ suspension is over and he will be back on the road with WWE this weekend. Of course, he will be in the main event of Sunday’s Battleground pay-per-view. From what I’ve been told, his drug suspension will not affect his push and he will remain as a top guy. Quite frankly, they can’t afford to move him down the card because they have talent depth issues.
