Warner Bros. Discovery is said to be interested in WWE programming

Author, reporter, and podcast host, James Andrew Miller was interviewed on the SI Media With Jimmy Traina. Miller also previously worked for The Washington Post and was Executive VP of Original Programming for USA Network.

Miller talked about attending WrestleMania for the first time and noted that he’s heard of interest in WWE programming from Warner Bros. Discovery.

“I think so,” Miller said on WBD’s interest in WWE. “I wouldn’t be surprised, despite the fact that money is such an issue for them, I wouldn’t be surprised if Warner Bros. Discovery wouldn’t like a slice of that WWE pie.”

He then speculated that WBD could move Raw off Mondays to avoid competing with other sports. Traina pointed out that WBD already has AEW programming and asked if WBD would want to add WWE to their existing AEW programming or if WWE would replace AEW.

Miller said, “I don’t know but I know there are people at Warner Bros. who are interested [in WWE].”

Both WWE and AEW will start negotiations in the next few months for a new TV deal. By all accounts, WBD seems happy with AEW and there have been multiple reports that WBD will be adding another 2-hour AEW show on Saturday nights. There is no indication that WBD and WWE have had talks.
