REPORT: WWE And AEW Talent Working Together For TV Project Is Causing A Problem For One Side

Amazon Prime Video is rebooting “American Gladiators,” and the cast is filled with stars from the world of professional wrestling.

WWE’s The Miz is set to host the series, and the cast of Gladiators includes talent from across major promotions, including Wardlow and Kamille from AEW, former WWE star Rick Boogs, and Jessie Godderz of TNA.

While talent crossovers are a unique draw for fans, a new report suggests they may already be causing issues behind the scenes. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, friction stems from the involvement of WWE and AEW stars.

The report notes there are “issues from one side” concerning The Miz, a WWE-contracted talent, being on the same production as AEW’s Wardlow and Kamille. It was not specified which company the issue stems from or the exact nature of the problem. However, officials from both promotions are reportedly monitoring the situation.

This potential conflict was speculated to be something the show’s producers had not considered when casting the series. Despite the rumored issues, American Gladiators production is moving forward.

Tapings are planned for June and July 2025 in Paris, France. The reboot will premiere on Amazon Prime’s FAST channels in 2025 or 2026.
