WWE will not only be creating the new Universal Championship for the RAW brand, but they will also be creating another title for the Cruiserweight division. The company has been hyping up the return of the cruiserweights for the RAW brand since the WWE Draft. Once the announcement was made several weeks ago, it was expected that they would create the new title. PWInsider confirmed that on Wednesday.
No word yet on when WWE plans to introduce the Cruiserweight Title. With the WWE Cruiserweight Classic wrapping up on September 14th from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, it’s possible that WWE will introduce the Cruiserweight Title then.
Several names from the CWC are expected to be offered deals and some are believed to have already agreed to come on board after the tournament.
