REPORT: WWE Held Multi-Department Meeting To Address WrestleMania Ticket Sales

WWE is looking into strategies to move tickets for WrestleMania 42. A new report indicates that the company held a specific meeting this past week to address ticket sales that have fallen below internal expectations.

Speaking on WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, it was reported that a multi-department meeting took place on February 11. The purpose of the gathering was to create new strategies to increase sales and momentum as the event approaches.

“WWE held a multi-department company meeting yesterday to address WrestleMania ticket sales. According to a source, leadership acknowledged internally that the current numbers are below expectations, all departments have been tasked with developing strategies and promotions to roll out beginning in late February in an effort to boost momentum and sales heading into the event. Additionally, we’re told WWE intends to keep current ticket pricing as is for the time being,” the report stated.

Ticket Sales Data

As of this past week, WrestleTix reported that approximately 36,000 tickets had been distributed for each night of the event. For comparison, at this same point last year, the company had moved about 10,000 more tickets per night. WrestleMania 41 eventually finished with between 56,000 and 60,000 tickets distributed for each night.

There has also been friction regarding local events in Las Vegas. Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp recently reported that WWE was adamantly prohibiting “watch parties” of WrestleMania at establishments within 50 miles of Allegiant Stadium. This decision upset a number of local establishments, particularly because the city of Las Vegas paid a site fee to bring the event to the city to increase tourism.
