On the February 24 episode of WWE NXT, Ethan Page lost the NXT North American Championship to Myles Borne. Page was the NXT North American Champion for 273 days, which is tied for the longest reign in the title’s history with Oba Femi. Despite the loss, the rivalry continued into the go-home show for NXT Vengeance Day.
Myles Borne Retains In Impromptu Suit Match
On the March 3 episode of WWE NXT in Orlando, Florida, Myles Borne defeated Ethan Page to retain the NXT North American Championship. The match was an impromptu bout that occurred after both men traded words in the opening segment of the show. Interestingly, both Borne and Page wrestled the entire match while still wearing their suits, with Page eventually being stripped to his underwear during the brawl.
Borne secured the victory after using underhanded tactics, hitting Page with a shoe before performing his Borne Again finisher for the pinfall. Page had earlier argued that he deserved a rematch due to his historic accolades. “He says Myles got lucky and anyone can have a good night. Ethan says he has had a million great nights. He became the fastest champion. Then he won the AAA Mixed Tag Champ. He was the longest reigning North American title. If anyone deserves a rematch it should be him,” Page said during the segment.
Internal Discussions Regarding Main Roster Move
A new report has come out on Ethan Page’s future following the conclusion of his title reign. Sources indicate to Bodyslam that Ethan Page has been talked about a lot regarding a potential main roster move. Page has established himself as one of the top veterans on the brand since signing with the company in the spring of 2024, and officials reportedly believe his character work and experience are ready for the next level.
However, Page may not be leaving the Performance Center immediately. Another source noted that Page is expected to make the move to the main event title scene in NXT again before officially heading to the main roster. This path would likely see Page challenge for the NXT Championship once more to help anchor the brand’s main event scene before going to the main roster.
Page has already made a handful of appearances on the main roster during his WWE tenure, most recently to support his mixed tag team partner, Chelsea Green. The pair previously held the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Titles before Green suffered an injury during her Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match.
