REPORT: WWE NXT Star Poised For Main Roster Call-Up And Character Refresh

A former champion in NXT is poised for a slight refresh as she prepares for a jump to the WWE main roster. WrestleVotes Radio reports that Sol Ruca is set for a character update, which includes the introduction of a brand new theme song. A number of internal supporters believe her time in the developmental brand has run its course and a call-up to either Raw or SmackDown is coming soon.

Sean Ross Sapp of FightfulSelect.com was previously told that Ruca was tentatively planned to be in Chicago around the Elimination Chamber. The Premium Live Event is scheduled to take place at the United Center in Chicago on February 28. Ruca recently made a name with a breakout performance at the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble, where she was one of the final three competitors remaining in the match.

The 26-year-old has been on a hot streak lately, which included a viral victory over Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Her innovative style has earned praise from several top stars, with Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan calling her a “future champion multiple times over.”

Ruca has already been working a heavier schedule, appearing in dark matches and recently earning an NXT Women’s title shot in Atlanta. While she previously held the NXT Women’s North American title, her momentum has clearly shifted toward the bigger stage. The refresh is expected to help her stand out as the company continues its current period of transition with several new call-ups.

Elimination Chamber 2026 in Chicago is set to feature two chamber matches to determine number one contenders for WrestleMania 42. In addition to the potential appearance of Ruca, the card also features CM Punk defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor.
