The WWE NXT UK brand had a roller coaster of a year in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic started as they didn’t hold TV tapings for months.
There was speculation regarding the future of the brand because they didn’t run shows and several members of the NXT UK roster had accusations made against them. Last September, the brand started holding TV tapings with no fans in attendance at BT Sport Studios.
WWE just ran a four-day tour of the UK and will return for more dates in November, all of which are house shows. The NXT UK brand last held tapings the week of SummerSlam in August and is set to do another round of tapings early October.
Alex McCarthy of TalkSport reported the upcoming TV tapings as well as some details regarding the future of the tapings. It was said that “BT Sport has been lobbying to become NXT UK’s permanent home with the idea of welcoming fans back imminently.”
Per the report, there are talks between both sides and they are said to be confident they’ll have fans in their studios for tapings, but ‘logistics’ are still being worked out.
