REPORT: WWE Planning To Reunite Lucha Bros Soon

WWE reportedly has plans to reunite the acclaimed tag team Lucha Brothers, Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix, on the same brand roster in the near future. Details emerged on the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio via Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass Patreon.

The report shed light on the initial separation of the brothers upon joining WWE, with Penta appearing on Raw and Fenix debuting on SmackDown ahead of WrestleMania. According to WrestleVotes, this was a strategic move.

“Sources indicate there are plans in the very near future to align Rey Fenix and Penta on the same roster and to present them as a team, the Lucha brothers,” the report stated. “We are told, the idea behind debuting Rey Fenix on SmackDown pre WrestleMania was done to keep Penta momentum on raw uninterrupted during his Intercontinental Championship feud.”

This suggests the separation was temporary and designed to protect Penta’s program on Raw while still introducing Fenix to the WWE Universe on the blue brand. The report emphasizes WWE’s long-term desire to feature the duo together.

“We are also told WWE has been eager to have the duo work as a team since the moment they became available last fall.”
