With WWE’s premium live events moving from Peacock to ESPN in 2026, the future of the company’s historical library remains a major question. A new report from Fightful Select has shed light on a theory within WWE, which could see the content move to a platform familiar to all wrestling fans: YouTube.
WWE’s Content Library Could Move To YouTube
The report notes that there has not been an announcement on where the library will be licensed after the Peacock deal expires. However, most within the company who were spoken to believe that WWE will utilize its strong relationship with Google to feature the library content on YouTube.
A Strategy For The WWE Archives
One source spoken to by Fightful believes this strategy would allow WWE to “cultivate new fans via archived content.” The theory is that by making the content more accessible, potentially through a premium tier on the platform, WWE can grow its audience. The source added that if a “too good to be true offer” for the library comes along from another service, the company can always take that deal instead.
The report also notes that WWE already has almost every show it has ever produced uploaded to a YouTube backend for copyright recognition purposes, which would make a transition to the platform a relatively seamless process.
The current deal with Peacock expires in March 2026, at which point the thousands of hours of WWE, WCW, and ECW content will need a new domestic home. The full report can be found on Fightful Select.
