As previously noted, WWE Friday Night SmackDown was supposed to start with Big E vs. John Morrison but the match never got started because Retribution invaded the PC and attacked both men.
It was later announced that Big E vs. Morrison would close out the show and there was extra security in the building but some of the security was relieved of their duties earlier in the show by Sheamus before his match. Otis and The Miz were at ringside during the main event. Several more Superstars went to the ringside area after the lights flickered again.
After the break, Retribution was shown attacking people in the backstage area. The wrestlers around ringside ran to the backstage area to fight off Retribution but Retribution was gone when they made it to the back.
