Return Plans for Absent WWE Star May Have Been Pushed Back

WWE fans may have to wait to see one star back on television after a notable absence. Tonight’s SmackDown will feature the fallout from last Saturday’s Crown Jewel PLE and was supposed to feature the return of a fan-favorite star.

WWE has announced two matches for tonight – LA Knight vs. Grayson Waller and Carlito vs. Bobby Lashley.

Rey Mysterio, Kevin Owens, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, The Street Profits, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, and The Brawling Brutes are advertised to appear. The advertised dark matches are Cody Rhodes vs. Judgment Day’s Damian Priest and Jey Uso vs. Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER.

Pwinsider reports that while the original plan was for AJ Styles to return this week, they heard that it may have been pushed back and are working on confirming it.

Styles hasn’t worked a match since the September 15 episode of SmackDown when he put over Finn Balor. The former WWE star was written off TV when the Bloodline attacked him.
