Rey Mysterio Appears At WWE x AAA Worlds Collide

Rey Mysterio came out to the ring after the national anthem for a promo. He recalled the first inaugural Worlds Collide 31 years ago.

Mysterio said that he always thought lucha libre would only be seen in Mexico, but he is proud to see how it has evolved to where it is today.

He said that the whole world can now see what he fell in love with as a kid and that’s lucha libre.

In a recent interview with Jim Varsallone while promoting his Legend Impact Award from the National Hispanic Media Coalition, Mysterio revealed the full extent of the issues that forced him to miss his scheduled match at WrestleMania 41 in April 2025.

He confirmed he is recovering from both a torn groin and a busted eardrum. The torn abductor muscle which required surgery, occurred on the April 18, 2025, episode of SmackDown, just one day before WrestleMania. This forced WWE to pull him from his match against “El Grande Americano” Chad Gable.
