Rey Mysterio Confirms His Injury

Rey Mysterio has confirmed the injury that prevented him from competing in his scheduled match at WrestleMania 41. The injury occurred during Friday’s WWE SmackDown.

On SmackDown, Mysterio teamed with Rey Fenix and Dragon Lee to secure a victory over American Made (Chad Gable, Julius Creed, & Brutus Creed). Following the match, WWE officials assisted Mysterio backstage.

As a result of the injury, Rey Fenix stepped in to replace the WWE Hall of Famer in his match against El Grande Americano at WrestleMania 41, a bout which El Grande Americano ultimately won. On Wrestling Observer Radio, it was reported that Mysterio is sidelined with a groin injury.

During a Fanatics Live Signing, Mysterio himself confirmed that he suffered a torn groin on WWE SmackDown.

The timeline for Mysterio’s return to in-ring action remains unknown at this time. The wrestling world wishes him a swift and full recovery.
