It turns out that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio almost represented WWE Hall of Famer and United States President Donald Trump at WrestleMania.
The future WWE Hall of Famer recently did an interview with Sohail Malik of Al Jazeera where he spoke about a wide range of topics. This is where he talked about almost representing Trump at WrestleMania 23, which would’ve been in 2007.
Trump took part in WrestleMania 23 where Bobby Lashley represented him while Umaga represented WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon. Umaga ended up losing that match and McMahon had to get his head shaved.
Former WWE creative writer Court Bauer was also interviewed for this piece where he revealed the idea that Mysterio was originally supposed to be in the match.
“Imagine some of those images popping up at this time if I was that person,” Rey stated. “It would have been interesting to see those pictures floating around these days; Donald Trump with the Mexican-American wrestler Rey Mysterio.”
