Rey Mysterio Reveals He Dealt With Another Injury Before WWE WrestleMania 41

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has revealed he suffered both a torn groin and a busted eardrum just before WrestleMania 41, injuries that ultimately forced him out of his advertised match against “El Grande Americano” Chad Gable. Rey Fenix replaced Mysterio against Gable at WrestleMania 41.

Speaking with Jim Varsallone while promoting his Legend Impact Award at the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s Impact Awards Gala, Mysterio discussed the toll of his long career.

“No, not easy (to stay on top in the wrestling industry). Obviously, with the amount of injuries that I’ve had over the years,” he stated. “I’m actually recovering from one that I just had right before WrestleMania. A torn groin and a busted eardrum. I still love doing what I do.”

We wish the WWE Hall of Famer a speedy recovery.
