Rey Mysterio says he would hate for his son, Dominik, to be his final opponent

Over the last year, WWE has used the son of Rey Mysterio on television more often. Most notably, he was used in the feuds involving Mysterio against Brock Lesnar last year at the Survivor Series pay-per-view event and currently against Seth Rollins.

During this time, Dominik has been training in the ring in order to learn the basics of the business. The belief is that once he’s been trained, he’ll end up working for WWE full-time.

Mysterio did an interview with GalaxyCon’s Rock Around the Ring and during it, he was asked whether he would like to wrestle his son in his final match.

“That’s something that I would hate. I would hate to walk out and have my son take over on my last match. I think the torch has already been passed and will eventually again the day that we get to share a ring together and perform in front of fans. That’s when the torch will be passed onto him.”

He added that his fans have turned into fans of his son because they believe in him as much as he does in his son. He thinks Dominik will be ready to wrestle sometime next year.

Mysterio also talked about the progression of Dominik’s training, his favorite ring attire, and more. You can watch the entire interview by clicking on the player below:
