Rey Mysterio says he’s 100% and free to wrestle

It’s no secret that Rey Mysterio has been dealing with knee issues for years. He’s had multiple surgeries but he hasn’t worked a full-time schedule in years. The belief is, from Rey’s friends, is that he will work a limited schedule and focus on bookings for autograph signings and photo appearances. His $20,000 fee for an apperance is just below what someone like Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin would charge.

As we noted yesterday, Mysterio is expected to headling the 3/15 Rey de Reyes show in Guadalajara. He’s currently not listed but the match lists a mystery man. The poster for the show was circulating online and on the AAA facebook page just before they officially announced Rey’s signing.

Mysterio is also booked to team with Alberto El Patron and Myzteziz on the 5/23 Torneo Internacional de Lucha Libre tournament. Mysterio told reporters at the press conference that he is 100 percent healthy and he is free to wrestle. Mysterio underwent stem cell treatments on his knee back in 2013 under the supervision of Dr. James Andrews.
