Rhea Ripley is slated to challenge Asuka for the Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania 37. However, many fans think Charlotte Flair could be added to the bout and make it a three-way match.
Originally, Flair was supposed to be in this role at WrestleMania, but, she was pulled from WrestleMania advertisements for an unknown reason at the time. It was later revealed by Flair that she had tested positive for COVID-19.
With Flair’s status being unknown regarding WrestleMania, it’s believed WWE put Ripley in this spot and if Flair is able to return in time for Mania then the company will make it a triple treat.
Speaking to Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, Ripley commented on this.
Ripley stated, “I’d be down for the match if she got added, but also in a selfish way I really want to have a one-on-one match with Asuka. It’s something that I’ve wanted for a long, long time. I’ve always wanted to step in the ring with Asuka and we haven’t had a one-on-one match ever. So, I think there is that it factor that everyone is really excited about. If Charlotte gets added to the match, I’m still not going to complain. It’s still going to be a fantastic match and it’s going to be a fantastic story.”
She continued by noting that she’ll wait to see what happens, but since flair gets what she wants, Flair will probably end up in it. She understands it’s not her call, but she is happy to have a match at WrestleMania and it will be great regardless of Flair is in the match.
Ripley and Asuka are set to sign the contract for their WrestleMania 37 bout on tonight’s episode of WWE Raw.
