On this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, General Manager Baron Corbin decided that there wasn’t enough room for Rhyno and Heath Slater. Corbin decided that one of them must quit.
Both Rhyno and Slater didn’t want to quit so Corbin decided to put them in a match and the loser would be fired. The match took place in the third hour of the show.
Slater got the win, which means Rhyno is fired. Given that he is 43 years old, there is a good chance that Rhyno is legitimately done with the company.
As we’ve written about several times, the roster is more crowded than ever and WWE is looking to sign more big names from the independent scene so it’s inevitable that some wrestlers will be let go at some point.
We’ll try to find out more details about Rhyno later tonight.
Later in the show, Baron Corbin gave Slater a referee’s shirt and said that he would become a referee and he would no longer be an in-ring competitor.
