Rhino Says WWE Wanted Him To Be Edge & Christian’s Brother

Wrestling veteran Rhyno recently shared details about an early creative direction proposed during his initial WWE run that would have seen him aligned with Edge and Christian Cage in a familial role. Speaking on “The False Finish,” Rhyno revealed WWE’s initial concept.

“They wanted to dye my hair and have me as their little brother,” Rhyno stated. However, the idea faced pushback from Edge (Adam Copeland) and Christian (Jay Reso) themselves. According to Rhyno, “Adam and Jey both went to them [WWE management] and said, ‘Listen, the fans are are going to sh*t all over this.'”

While WWE recognized Rhyno’s potential value as muscle for the duo, the specific “little brother” angle was contentious. Rhyno also touched upon the naming process, indicating WWE sought something different initially.

“Then they’re (WWE) was like, ‘Well, we need a different name.’” He added that an unnamed “Legend” suggested altering the spelling of his name, similar to Chyna: “Legend actually said, ‘Like Chyna, they put a Y. Why don’t they change it to a Y?’ so I suggested that.”
