Ric Flair Declares Charlotte Flair Might Be The Best Wrestler In The Wrestling Business Right Now

Ric Flair has emphatically declared that his daughter, Charlotte Flair, is not only the “greatest female wrestler of all time” but potentially “the best wrestler in the business right now,” even suggesting she surpasses current top male competitors like John Cena and Cody Rhodes. Speaking with TMZ, the wrestling legend expressed immense pride in Charlotte’s recent comeback.

He acknowledged the severity of her knee injury, calling it “horrible” and noting the difficulty of being sidelined “right in the middle of your career” after missing all of 2024. Despite this setback, Ric Flair highlighted her resilience, quoting The Undertaker by saying, “she came back, and she regained the crown.” This comeback was marked by a significant victory in the women’s Royal Rumble match upon her return.

This Royal Rumble win has propelled Charlotte Flair directly into the title picture, setting the stage for a high-profile clash at WrestleMania 41 where she will challenge Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship.

Ric Flair also commented extensively on Charlotte embracing her role as a top heel. “Sometimes, it takes a while to find your niche,” he explained. “She’s a heel. She’s like me… She can be a babyface because she can do a lot of stuff, but she’s a heel, man. She’s badass.” He expressed satisfaction that WWE is allowing her authenticity to shine through, stating, “Now, she’s getting to really feel herself. I’m glad that they’re letting her be who she is.” He concluded by asserting her dominance: “When you’re the best, you can say anything you want to say.”

Here’s the entire Flair quote, via Fightful: “It was a horrible injury, and it’s hard to do anything on the sidelines when you’re right in the middle of your career. She’s never been hotter, but Undertaker said it best, she came back, and she regained the crown. She’s the greatest female wrestler of all time. She might be the best wrestler in the business right now. Forget about Cena and Cody [Rhodes] and those guys. She’s that good. She’s on fire, man. Sometimes, it takes a while to find your niche. She’s a heel. She’s like me. She can be a babyface because she can do a lot of stuff, but she’s a heel, man. She’s badass. Now, she’s getting to really feel herself. I’m glad that they’re letting her be who she is. When you’re the best, you can say anything you want to say.”
